July 25, 2013 - Marlins at Rockies
Two games were wrapped into one in this Thursday afternoon matchup, around a 90 minute rain delay. The first 6 1/2 innings featured dominant pitching on both sides and no scoring. The second half featured a run on a wild pitch, and four subsequent runs on the Rockies shaky relievers. Very few pictures were made in the first 6 1/2, and lots presented themselves at the end. Unfortunately for the crowd, the visiting team had the better time after the rain delay, and the Marlins beat the Rockies 5-3. Photos copyright Getty Images 2013.

Hot, bright day at Coors, and a win over the visiting Marlins to even the series at 2 each and go 5-2 on the homestand. The relevant runs were off of Pacheco's bat and I got some decent jube at home plate.

And for my second weird MLB record of the year (first one back in June)... Giancarlo Stanton hits a homerun in his sixth game at Coors Field, after also hitting homeruns in his first five games played there since last year. I was well positioned for the hit itself but the timing and focus wasn't quite perfect, so I'd settle for some of that famous Marlin's jube with colorful Jose Reyes.

Marlins shortstop Emilion Bonifacio wasn't thrilled with the first few innings of the game, and was pulled early.
Carlos Gonzalez round the bases after piling on some more runs. Rockies took this one 12-5.

Jason Giambi sends the 3rd pitch he sees well clear of the right field wall.
And since it's the bottom of the 9th inning, he gets a warm reception at home plate.
