February 2, 2014 - Denver Broncos fans watch the Super Bowl

 

What seemed like a game the Broncos would roll in turned into the worst Super Bowl, no worst NFL game, ever played by any NFL team. Downtown Denver started out enthusiastic and filled with hope. I guess I am just lucky that the loss meant no riots and tear gas.

January 12, 2014 - AFC Divisional Game - Chargers at Broncos

I carried a small camera around as I ran cards for the Getty team. Got a couple of miles in as I circled the field a few dozen times. I enjoyed the experience and would do it again. Didn't need the camera but had fun with the single fixed-length lens and the great light.

December 12, 2013 - Chargers at Broncos

Tough loss for the Broncos, who just couldn't get drives going for much of this game. The rematch, with significantly higher stakes, is scheduled for Sunday night, January 12, 2014. The game went OK for me, though I missed the single best play that happened in front of me all year when Keenan Allen hurdled a defender for his first of two touchdowns on the night. December 8, 2013 - Titans at Broncos

The Broncos handled the Titans on this cold Sunday afternoon. I wore five layers of shirts and two layers of pants, and I was comfortable through the freezing cold game. Prater nailed a 64-yard field goal with seconds left in the first half for that "perfect storm" field goal where everything had to align for it to even be attempted. October 27, 2013 - Redskins at Broncos

 

Who would have thought at the start of the year that the Redskins would go 3-13 behind second year quarterback RG III? Not this photographer. Despite a strong first half effort, including a pick six off of Manning (second image above), the Broncos beat the Redskins 45-21 on a nice late October day. Photographs copyright Getty Images 2013.

October 26, 2013 - Notre Dame at Air Force

 

Notre Dame came to Air Force unranked, and played well enough that two weeks later, they were in the top 25. Few surprises in the game, and I gained a renewed appreciation for the reasonably clean lines of the Air Force stadium.

October 5, 2013 - Oregon at Colorado

Oregon came to town ranked #2 and sported a 28 point spread, and proved why they were ranked as such. The Buffaloes played hard early, but couldn't match the Ducks over 60 minutes.

September 29, 2013 - Eagles at Broncos

It's taken me a while to post this one (and everything after it) because I had just a bad game. I mishandled my memory cards and deleted images, on top of just not "seeing" anything I liked. Manning celebrated a touchdown pass with D. Thomas right in front of me, and I liked that, but overall, this is one I wish I could do again. Photos copyright Getty Images 2013.

September 18, 2013 - Cardinals at Rockies

The St. Louis cardinals come to town on their way to the playoffs, and the Rockies have nothing to play for besides their pride. The Cardinals managed a 4-3 win behind a solid 7 2/3-inning start by Adam Wainwright. Photos copyright Getty Images 2013.

September 5, 2013 - NFL Season Opener - Ravens at Broncos

There were a lot of great storylines to follow for this NFL season opener on September 5, Thursday night, at Sports Authority Field in Denver. Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens, opening their season on the road? A low temperature of -10 degrees F on January 12, and a high temp of 97 degrees F on September 5 (both dates featured the Ravens visiting the Broncos)? A Giant picture of Joe Flacco hung on the side of the stadium? A relatively even first half? Then, Peyton Manning would go all signature Peyton Manning and throw the first 7-touchdown game since 1969, throwing for 462 yards in the process.
