Big fireworks night, literally and figuratively, with 3 home team homeruns, including one from the pitcher Chacin, 2 visiting team homeruns, a 9-4 Rockies win, and a Coors-field special fireworks night. Photos copyright Getty Images 2013.

April 20, 2013 - Diamondbacks at Rockies

The Rockies cruised to victory over the Diamondbacks on their way to a 16-11 April. Cody Ross and Kirk Gibson were ejected and a blast from the past, Eric Chavez, hit a sweet homerun for the losing team. All photos copyright Getty Images 2013.

September 23, 2012 - Diamondbacks at Rockies

The last nail is in the coffin for the 2012 Colorado Rockies. Another Sunday loss, this time to the Diamondbacks, who beat the Rockies with decent pitching and a late 3-run bomb from Aaron Hill, which incidentally also helped me win a close fantasy baseball showdown netting me $100 that I wouldn't have won otherwise. Nice light and several plays at second base and home plate. What more can I ask for?

April 1, 2011 - Opening Day - Diamondbacks at Rockies

Perfect day at the ballpark, besides the 11th inning loss. Cargo and Tulo were awarded their gold gloves and silver sluggers, and the light was fun to play with after months indoors. The game included a nice little collision at home plate between Justin Upton and Chris Iannetta. Rockies are off to a great start despite the loss.

May 27, 2010 - Diamondbacks at Rockies

Day games are usually gorgeous, but direct sunlight over the players heads can make things a little more difficult. Not a lot from this game looked great to me, but I had a couple of decent shots.

Giambi started at first, as he has been for the day games.

Tulowitzki celebrating one of several recent homeruns.

Another Ubaldo start, another win. This was a great night.

Ubaldo!

It rained for a few minutes.

Easy win for the Rox it seemed like. Homerun for Tulowitzki, and a shot of Dbacks 2nd baseman Kelly Johnson watching the game from the dugout and appearing to not hold out too much hope....

April 26, 2010 - Diamondbacks at Rockies

A three-run homer from Adam LaRoche and a pair of runs later on would hand the Rockies an opening game loss against the Dbacks. This Monday night game though was special for being the 15th anniversary of Coors Field opening night, where Dante Bichette smacked a walk-off homerun in the bottom of the 14th inning on April 26, 1995. Bichette threw out the first pitch to former teammate Larry Walker and was recognized by the owners of the Rockies. I grabbed a decent frame of the former Blake Street Bombers after the ceremonial first pitch.
Former Rockies players and Blake Street Bombers Dante Bichette, right, and Larry Walker share a laugh after Bichette threw out the ceremonial first pitch during a ceremony for Bichette before a regular season Major League Baseball game between the Colorado Rockies and the Arizona Diamondbacks at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado.

Colorado Rockies second baseman Clint Barmes (12) can't handle a throw from the catcher attempting to throw out Arizona Diamondbacks center fielder Chris Young stealing 2nd base.

Dan Haren was good, striking out ten Rockies in 8 innings of work.

It wasn't actually THIS cold. But thanks to this ump for the image.
