September 18, 2013 - Cardinals at Rockies

September 4, 2013 - Dodgers at Rockies

For me, this game was significant since it marked the first time I have ever seen a player escape a pickle (middle picture above) which Josh Rutledge did when he escaped the tag of Juan Uribe of the Dodgers. The Rockies would put up a solid performance to back Jorge De la Rosa for his 16th win of the season, and the Dodgers would walk away with 2 of the 3 game series en route to their likely division win. September 1, 2013 - Reds at Rockies

Helton would collect his 2,500th hit on a seventh inning double - the moment everyone in the stadium was waiting for - and I would be both unlucky and not great in execution. The hit went for a stretched double, and I was looking for a single or a homerun and I sat at first base - and he went opposite-field, when I was looking for him to pull. I think Helton was glad the hit came in a victory, and right after his teammate Michael Cuddyer led off the inning with a homerun. Photos copyright Getty Images 2013.

August 31, 2013 - Reds at Rockies

My edit for this game reflects the many failures on the night. Todd Helton would go 0-4 with three strikeouts and sit on 2,499 career hits for another day, Juan Nicasio would give up 6 earned runs in 4 1/3 innings on seven hits and three walks, and the Reds would beat the Rockies 8-3 behind a strong outing by former Rockie Greg Reynolds, who has never had a good start at Coors Field before. August 30, 2013 - Reds at Rockies

Todd Helton went 2-4 with two three-run homeruns for his 2,498th and 2,499th career hits, but couldn't pull off a three-homerun night despite a two-on chance in the ninth. The Rockies beat up on the Reds in this first game of three, 9-6. Photos copyright Getty Images 2013.

August 26, 2013 - Giants at Rockies

August 12, 2013 - Padres at Rockies

July 25, 2013 - Marlins at Rockies

Two games were wrapped into one in this Thursday afternoon matchup, around a 90 minute rain delay. The first 6 1/2 innings featured dominant pitching on both sides and no scoring. The second half featured a run on a wild pitch, and four subsequent runs on the Rockies shaky relievers. Very few pictures were made in the first 6 1/2, and lots presented themselves at the end. Unfortunately for the crowd, the visiting team had the better time after the rain delay, and the Marlins beat the Rockies 5-3. Photos copyright Getty Images 2013.

July 24, 2013 - Marlins at Rockies

Prospects and orange shirts. I hadn't heard of half of the players on the Marlins' team (which is odd for me), but I enjoyed shooting the youngsters. The questionable day glow orange jersey's have grown on me since I first saw them, even if they don't last. The Rockies got behind a great start by Jorge De La Rosa and three relievers combined and worked an eighth inning jam with the basis loaded (culminating with a broken bat groundout by Giancarlo Stanton with the bases loaded) to preserve the lead. June 16, 2013 - Phillies at Rockies

The Rockies got behind a very solid Jhoulys Chacin start and the game was over in 2 hours, 18 minutes, perfect amount of time since my toddler son and wife and father in law were at the game as spectators. June 15, 2013 - Phillies at Rockies

June 7, 2013 - Padres at Rockies

 

The Rockies came out swinging and had an 8-2 lead after two innings, but a bullpen implosion in the seventh inning by Rob Scahill and Josh Outman (second image above, after the mess was handed to Wilton Lopez, who made the last out of the inning) allowed the game to be tied up after 7.
