July 17, 2011 - Brewers at Rockies

Takashi Saito grew upset and distraught when a fan wouldn't stop yelling his name while he pitched. This outburst caused the whole section to yell his name as he pitched. A pretty funny moment at the ballpark.

Nyjer Morgan doing what he does.

The now-injured Richie Weeks got caught in a pickle between 3rd and home and did the right thing by going for it. Tagged out, but glory intact.

July 14, 2011 - Brewers at Rockies

Sunsets came a little early this year. I don't usually look for them until August.

Recently acquired Mark Ellis turns a double play.

July 9, 2011 - US Women's Open - Final Round

Paula Creamer, decked out in pinkness and aviator shades, hits off the 13th tee.

Hee Kyung Seo held the lead overnight, only to lose it on Monday morning in a three hole playoff with So Yeon Ryu (below).

For the 4th day in a row, the gods had something to say during the afternoon.

So Yeon Ryu looked good Sunday, and took the win on Monday after a three hole playoff.

July 9, 2011 - US Women's Open - Round 2

Weather on Thursday and Friday pushed round 2 of the US Womens Open back to Friday and Saturday. I caught the end of Round 2 before I left for the day - and more weather pushed round three to Sunday morning.

July 7, 2011 - US Women's Open - Round 1

Se Ri Pak of Korea in some nice early AM light as she hits from the 12th tee on the East Course at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Michelle Wie tees off on the 18th hole (her 9th on the day).

Day one of the US Women's Open was, for me, mostly about getting bearings, trial end error, and finding the right ladies to cover.

July 2, 2011 - Royals at Rockies

A bunch of awkward action. I didn't really see it until I put these all together, but it's strange how much awkward action I captured at this game.

July 1, 2011 - Royals at Rockies

Red hat day + good light + fans in the seats = I'm heading up into the stands to get an overhead view of the capacity crowd.

Mark Ellis had a helluva game for his debut with the Rockies. Here he celebrates with teammates in the dugout, who shower him in sunflower seeds.

June 30, 2011 - White Sox at Rockies

A fan takes it all in.

Juan Pierre had a couple of RBIs.

Cargo nabbed third base.

SI love.

June 28, 2011 - White Sox at Rockies

Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki (2) slides ahead of a tag attempt by Chicago White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski (12) to win the game in the 13th inning during a regular season interleage game between the Chicago White Sox and the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies beat the White Sox 3-2 in 13 innings.

Hitting coach Carney Lansford and Colorado Rockies first baseman Jason Giambi (23) discuss hitting approach.

Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki (2) celebrates after he beats the throw and the tag attempt by Chicago White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski (12) on a bloop single after running from first base.

Fun game. I like extra innings and walk off hits.
