I got a note from Mclatchey's D.C. news bureau asking my availablity on Wednesday, April 17, without any further details. Sure, I was available. They wanted some images to go along with an article about Colorado's upcoming status as a marijuana enthusiasts' vacation destination, and the agency had set up an interview at a marijuana dispensary near my house, that actually specializes in edibles.
The shop owner was up skiing and had "intended to cancel the interview" but forgot to let the reporter know, so instead of cancelling, he was just really late, and his employees were really nervous that there were reporters inside the business. It was an interesting assignment and shoot.
