August 19, 2012 - Marlins at Rockies

Hot, bright day at Coors, and a win over the visiting Marlins to even the series at 2 each and go 5-2 on the homestand. The relevant runs were off of Pacheco's bat and I got some decent jube at home plate.

August 18, 2012 - Marlins at Rockies

And for my second weird MLB record of the year (first one back in June)... Giancarlo Stanton hits a homerun in his sixth game at Coors Field, after also hitting homeruns in his first five games played there since last year. I was well positioned for the hit itself but the timing and focus wasn't quite perfect, so I'd settle for some of that famous Marlin's jube with colorful Jose Reyes.

August 11, 2012 - Polen/Calderwood Wedding

I decided to bring my camera with a 50mm f/1.8 lens and a flash to a friend's wedding, even though I was an invited guest and not an official photographer. My first self-assigned task was to shoot the group who was stuck at the base of the mountain waiting out a thunderstorm, which caused the ceremony to run about an hour late. The photographer they hired took off pretty early and I tried to supplement her coverage, including a fun trip to the base area bar "9280 Taphouse" for the after-party. Full gallery here.

August 4, 2012 - Dirt Jumping - Frisco Adventure Park

Rode the GS up to Frisco for a little dirt jumping at some sweet public trails with Winston and Fuller. Breck local Danny Peirce had the moves and was fun to take pictures with. The light sucked but everything else was awesome. See the whole gallery at my Photoshelter page.

July 29, 2012 - Reds at Rockies

The Reds sweep the Rockies and have their 10th win in a row. Mat Latos went 8 strong innings and seemed interested in going the distance. The trainers had the final word, though, and Sam "good looking" Lecure finished off the Rockies in the ninth. Jonathan Sanchez would be lucky to start another game after this performance. July 28, 2012 - Reds at Rockies

The Rockies' bats woke up, but their pitchers failed them. Reds won game two of the set 9-7, though the Rockies made in interesting in the eighth and ninth innings, even as they faced the 102 mph Chapman fastballs. All images copyright Getty Images.

July 27, 2012 - Reds at Rockies

Behind a strong outing from Bronson Arroyo of weird-windup fame, two runs on wild pitches in the same inning and a three-strikeout performance by Aroldis Chapman to shut the door, the Reds dominated the Rockies 3-0 in the first of a three game set. All images copyright Getty Images.
