August 29, 2011 - Sports Illustrated

Had a shot in this week's Sports Illustrated that ran too big for my scanner. Nyjer Morgan lays a bunt down in the August 17 game at Coors Field and lands me my biggest published picture of baseball yet.

Nice too that it was the cover story:

February 26, 2011 - Texas at Colorado

I picked a good one for my first college basketball game in 7 or so years. Colorado had been down by 22 points late in the first half before going on an amazing 26-4 run, going ahead up by as much as 10, and eventually winning 91-89.

Colorado's man, Alex Burks, has an easy two.

Burks celebrates a nice defensive play as Jordan Hamilton looks discouraged and the Colorado fans go wild.

Jordan Hamilton and Cory Higgins.

Texas' Tristan Thompson.

Sports Illustrated College Preview issue cover

I had several images in the 2010 Sports Illustrated College Football preview issue - including 2 of the 3 images on the cover. The shots of the Missouri quarterback and the Colorado receiver were both taken during the Missouri at Colorado game last fall.

2008 and 2009 Pro and collegiate sports tearsheets

I pulled these together for ICON and thought I would post them here as well. I save down screenshots and scans of the published work I can find, so here they are for 2008 and 2009. I'll post the first half of 2010 later this year. I actually have tons of these but this is an edit of some of my favorites and / or more prominently placed shots.

2008:

An interesting perspective on campaign finance used Manny Ramirez's salary to make the point.

2009

My favorite assignment ever? Maybe. My press pass? Resembled a strip club wristband.

Goalie action.

This shot gave me an opportunity to say "hey" to this nice gal. My image is the girl on the left.

Loved this usage.

Holliday has always sold lots of images for me.

Blown calls of the playoffs. This was terrible as it was part of the reason that series didn't go 5 games......
