January 2, 2014 - Flyers at Avalanche

By my photos, this was the Varly show, and indeed it was. The Avalanche beat visiting Steve Downie and the Philly Flyers 2-1 on this hot night in January.

December 10, 2013 - Coyotes at Avalanche

Can't lie and say I don't enjoy some sprayed ice, as well as being around and watching the girls who clear it for us during the commercial breaks.Glad the Avalanche brought some ice girls to Denver, and I think they enjoy their job.

April 27, 2013 - Wild at Avalanche

Last minute assignment to shoot the Wild as they attempt to make the playoffs with either a victory and/or a Blue Jackets loss, both occur, and the Wild go back to Minnesota happy. The word in the arena was that this would be Milan Hejduk's last NHL game, so I watched for chances to shoot him as well.

March 12, 2013 - Oilers at Avalanche

The Avalanche came out flat this time against the Oilers, and the only puck that ended up behind the Oilers goalie was called off due to Landeskog's presence in the crease. I always enjoy shooting the Oilers thanks to all their young stars and the energy they bring with them from the great white north.

February 6, 2013 - Ducks at Avalanche

The Ducks are mighty again, and they did their best to prove it at the Pepsi Center on Wednesday night. I felt and shot "loose" and was happy with a couple of pictures I made. The Avalanche couldn't sneak anything by the Ducks' phenom goalie, not that they looked like they could have gotten anything by ANY NHL goalie on this particular night.

March 10, 2012 - Oilers at Avalanche

Ryan Smyth celebrates a first period goal that wasn't enough, as Paul Stastny stumbles over his own goalie Semyon Varlamov looking dejected, confused.

18 year old Ryan Nugent-Hopkins proves that hyphenated last names can be cool. That kid looks young.

Overtime shootout win for the Avalanche despite a solid game from the Oilers young forwards and veteran Ryan Smyth. First star went to goalie Varlamov who had a great game behind his team.

December 29, 2011 - Coyotes at Avalanche

Paul Stastny hurls the puck at the goal as a Coyote desperately tries to disrupt the play.

The Avalanche have a new post-win-at-home tradition to skate in a circle and raise the sticks.

December 4, 2011 - Red Wings at Avalanche

3rd home win in a row for the Avalanche, against a typically tough Red Wings team that looked sloppy this particular Sunday night.

Ryan O'Reilly had this excellent shot amidst a crowd of Red Wings players and a well-positioned Ty Conklin. GOAL to add to his night where he already had an assist.

O'Reilly celebrates his first point of the night.

Semyon Varlamov wasn't bad either, holding the Red Wings to two goals. Here he stuffs a point-blank shot.

October 20, 2011 - Blackhawks at Avalanche

New starting goalie Semyon Varlamov was awesome in this home start for the Avalanche, but the Blackhawks got to him twice.

Marion Hossa moves the puck up the ice.

Duchene the third year centerman shows some youthful enthusiasm for an Avalanche goal.

Warped view of the action. Something different.
