The Predators visited the Pepsi Center for the second time in the young season and managed a 6-4 win.

October 4, 2013 - Predators at Avalanche

The Avalanche went off and opened the season with a 14-2 record through November 10 (they are 17-5 as of this writing). I caught this win over the Predators and their highly-rated rookie, Seth Jones.

February 18, 2013 - Predators at Avalanche

First, I need to apologize for the way the pictures on this blog look. I'll update platforms soon; Blogger has finally forced my hand with even crappier control over how pictures look. Hopefully I can keep the archive without much trouble. I used to code my own HTML and I had to again tonight to get it to look even as good as it does, which I know is not great.

Second, the Avalanche won a shootout today, and for the first time in 10 meetings, beat the Nashville Predators. I was told that Carrie Underwood was NOT in the building, but I don't know what that has to do with anything. Seven goals were scored in the second period. The Predators came within one on a Shea Weber goal with a minute to go in the third, but the Avalanche were able to hold off the 90 second 6-man charge.

April 7, 2012 - Predators at Avalanche

Predators playing for arena advantage in the playoffs, Avalanche playing for nothing. Predators won 6-1.

March 31, 2011 - Predators at Avalanche

Nashville Predators right wing Matt Halischuk (24) jams the puck under the pad of Colorado Avalanche goalie Brian Elliott (30) but does not score during a regular season National Hockey League game between the Colorado Avalanche and the Nashville Predators at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

Apparently Nashville loves Pekka Rinne. Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne (35) watches as the puck flies past Colorado Avalanche center Jay McClement (16) off the stick of Colorado Avalanche center Kevin Porter (12)

January 22, 2010 - Predators at Avalanche

Another win for the Av's, this one was something of a nailbiter. 2-1 victory. Had a nice shot of the game-winner from Brandon Yip - and it was nearly identical to the shot used by Denver Post photographer Karl Gehring (see the photo used with this article: http://www.denverpost.com/avalanche/ci_14252418). I admire Karl's ability to always nail the key moments from up above of both hockey and baseball.

I also liked this shot of rookies T.J. Galiardi and Ryan O'Reilly discussing an upcoming penalty kill. These "defensive forwards" have stepped up and been awesome to watch when the man advantage is for the other team.

November 25 - Predators at Avalanche

The dreaded Predators visited town, and looked vicious.... no not really, but they did score early and often enough to hand the Av's an OT loss. The Av's wore the alternate jerseys again, but were a little sharper than the first time (8-2 loss against the Canucks that time). A solid 2nd period where the Av's outscored the Preds 3-1 was the highlight. The lowlight was the play on defense with Anderson not able to see the puck at all (a couple times this happened, including a post hit that he had no idea was coming).

The image below is of Jordin Tootoo celebrating a 1st period goal where he had one of the assists.

Next game for me will be the Dec 9 game against the Minnesota Wild. Happy thanksgiving and thanks for looking.
